We have two pieces of painted pottery from Ecuador in stock, and this is one of them. Although it is not as old as the Karchi or Tunkawan pottery, which date back to around 500-500 BC, it is believed to have been made using a technique called negative painting, which uses the same principles as batik.
The rough areas on the surface are from the firing process and are burnt-like marks that have adhered to the paint. There are no major chips or repairs, but please note that there are some small holes and particles.
You can decorate it, or you can put dried flowers or something long and thin in it.
