This black, soot-covered Ebisu statue from the Edo to Meiji period is quite simple in design, with a striking smiling expression. It is just over 6cm tall, about the size of a palm. The tip of the hat appears to have chipped off in ancient times, but it blends in well and is not particularly noticeable. The god brings bountiful harvests and prosperous business.
