This hurricane lantern is from Dietz, a company that has been making lanterns since its founding in 1840. Dietz moved its production base to Hong Kong in 1956 and then to China in 1982, but this product was produced in the United States around the 1940s.

There is some tarnish, soot and some rust due to years of use, but so far there have been no oil leaks and the glass lens cap is in good condition.

The fuel is kerosene or lantern oil. It is less bright than a mantle-type lantern, but it is still sufficient for tabletop use. It also requires no pumping or preheating, and its simple structure makes it easy to maintain.

A rusty tin tray of just the right size is included to prevent the floor from getting dirty when refueling.

How to ignite : Press down the lever on the right to lift the lamp and ignite the wick.

How to remove the cap : Lift the top and press down on the lever to tilt the cap and remove it.

Size : Base diameter 16.5cm, maximum width 17.3cm, height 29.2cm

Delivery
100 size

Caution : Filling the oil tank to the brim will cause it to leak, so limit oiling to about 7-8 minutes and be careful not to shake the oil too much. Also, be careful not to extend the wick too far, as this will cause soot to come out.
