The giant glass manufacturer Owens-Illinois Glass Company was formed by the merger of Owens Glass and Illinois Glass, and this jar was manufactured by Illinois Glass. It's quite rare.
There is a small "IPG" mark inside a triangle on the bottom, but it is said to have been manufactured in the 1920s, making it practically an antique, as it has been nearly 100 years since it was manufactured.
It appears to have been made for selling honey rather than for home use, but I don't know anything about the manufacturer, Cole's.
Since the lid was no longer available, I attached a deadstock Ball zinc cap that was in good condition. The glass surface only has minor scratches, so I hope you will enjoy using it to store coffee beans, tea leaves, sweets, seasonings, and more.
