Ring insulator

We received a large shipment of insulators that were used inside buildings, and this is one of them. I think it's probably an insulator, but I have no idea how it's used.

There is a "◯sa 10" inscribed on the side, and the other side is unglazed. There are some stains in the unglazed area, but other than that there is no visible dirt or damage. I think it would be nice to decorate it with something round, or to string it on a string and make it into a necklace.
