This adorable, round Buffalo mug is a must-have. Buffalo Pottery was founded in 1901 by the soap manufacturer Larkin Company. Initially, the company only supplied soap dishes, but later expanded its business to include tableware for a wide range of customers, including hotels, railroads, and the military.

The stamp on the bottom is the one used in the 1940s and 1950s, but it has the date code "L-9", which indicates that it was manufactured in 1951. Some of the stamps have faded (it's possible that they were simply forgotten to be stamped in the first place...), but in this case we will give you a 200 yen discount.

The color is white, but not pure white; it's a very pale off-white. The condition is very good, with minimal scratches from use, but please note that there are some kiln marks, such as small holes, dents, and grain marks, that were made during the manufacturing process.

The mug is thick, so it feels heavy for a small, low-profile mug. The handle is small, just the width of a finger. It's simple and unassuming, and can be used for coffee, cafe au lait, soups, desserts, and more.
