This is a Brother typewriter, also known for its printers and sewing machines. It's from the 1960s Valiant series and is light gray in color. It comes with a soft case and instruction manual, but the zipper on the soft case became unsealed after cleaning, so please consider it a bonus.
We cleaned as much of the interior and exterior as possible, and used an air compressor to remove dust and dirt from hard-to-reach areas inside. However, please note that some stains, dust, and discoloration may remain.
You can use regular copy paper. You can also print on bags and cards by putting them in a roller, so you can use it to make original cards and tags.
The ink ribbon has been replaced with a new one, but it is still available at specialty stores, so you can use it for a long time with peace of mind. A simple guide to using it is below, but for detailed instructions, please search for "typewriter instructions" and you will find them.
The affected parts are the "1" and "Q" types, which are difficult to return to their original position after typing. Note that the "1" type will get caught on the "Q" type after returning to its original position, so please press it with your finger to return it to its original position.
How to use <br data-mce-fragment="1">Insert the paper from the back of the roller▼
Turn the knob next to the roller to advance the paper to the position where you want to type the first character.
Adjust the left and right margins with the left and right sliders on the scale at the back▼
Move the lever on the left of the roller to the right.
Start typing
Line break <br data-mce-fragment="1">Moving the lever on the left of the roller to the right will automatically create a line break and set it to the leftmost position of the next line.
Adjusting line spacing <br data-mce-fragment="1">You can adjust line spacing using the lever to the right of the line break lever.

Changing the ink color
If a two-color ink ribbon is installed, you can change the ink color using the lever on the right side of the keyboard (the silver color in the middle will not print).
