A person stands quietly, his left hand over his mouth, perhaps gazing intently at something or perhaps deep in thought.

This bronze sculpture was made in Burma in the early 1900s, when the country was under British rule, as an ornament to be worn on the end of a walking stick. Its dull golden color has darkened in places, and it also has a patina (*1), indicating the passage of time.
*Note 1: Verdigris: The blue-green rust that appears when copper oxidizes. The blue-green color of the outdoor Great Buddha statue and the Statue of Liberty in New York is due to verdigris.

This is a product that was made as a luxury item in ancient times and has been fortunate enough to survive. We hope that our customers will continue to treasure it in the future.
