This pencil sharpener is from Boston, a company with a long history, founded in 1899. It is likely from the 1980s, and although there is some surface damage, there is no internal damage and it remains in good working condition.
There was some granular rust on the top, so I polished it off. I also cleaned it as much as possible and polished the blade, but please note that some tarnish may remain.
Unlike Japanese pencil sharpeners, the pencil is not fixed in place, so you hold the body and pencil in your left hand and then turn the handle. The center of the body is a box where the shavings accumulate. It can handle six different pencil thicknesses. I was unclear as to the function of the lever attached to the handle.
