This tool moves the central rod up and down by turning the handle, allowing you to crush or press something. I heard it was a press, but I don't know how it was used specifically.

There is some peeling paint and rust on the surface, but I took the photo after applying oil to bring out the shine. It is a tool that can be used as an object, but I would be even happier if it could be used for something else.
