A very well-made wooden box from the U.S.A. The words "RETURN TO BELL TEL CO." are written on the side, so it is likely from Bell Telephone Company (Bell System).
The lid opens like a folding screen, and there are fabric handles on both sides of the main body. The corners are reinforced with iron. There are scratches, cracks, blackening, paint spatters, and rust on the metal parts, but the damage is not severe.
The interior is just large enough to fit an LP record, but the lid floats slightly when it's placed upright, so it needs to be tilted slightly. It's about 36cm high, so it can be used as both storage and a coffee table.
