A long, thin basket made from woven bamboo. The bottom part is made by covering the woven material with sliced bamboo. It is probably from Laos, but the woven part is made from very thin bamboo. Wonderful, delicate handiwork.
It looked like a hatchet case, but there were no blade marks inside, so it must be a fish basket for holding caught fish. The delicate construction and the texture of the well-used bamboo are magnificent. I hope people will enjoy it as a flower vase by putting small cups in it.
As this is an old basket, there are some darkened and whitish areas. Please also note that there are cracks on the surface of the bottom and some areas where the bamboo is slightly torn.
