Ball jars have been making storage jars since 1884 and are now loved around the world. Because of their long history, many different models have been produced, but this particular jar is an older model that was manufactured between 1898 and 1910.
These models don't have a series name, but they feature a bullet-like shape and a muted aqua blue glass, which has a slightly greenish tint compared to the Perfect Mason series that comes later.
Furthermore, the word "MASON" that would normally be placed under "Ball" is not included on this item, which makes it quite rare.
In terms of condition, there are scratches, a chip on the opening, and some cloudiness on the interior walls that cannot be removed, but the inside and outside have been thoroughly cleaned, and the lid has been polished to remove the white rust.
It can be used as a small item holder, a vase, or to store candles, or you can replace the lid and use it to store sweets, coffee beans, etc. The opening is the size of a regular mouth.
