Ball has been making food storage jars since 1884. In that long history, the only jars made for freezers are the Freezer series jars.
It's 16 ounces in size, with a capacity of about 450ml just short of the brim. Even though it's designed for the freezer, it doesn't actually have any special mechanisms, and it's made of the same glass as other jars. However, the Ball logo is intricately designed, giving it a playful feel.
The Freezer series is a rare model that was only produced for a short period from 1946 to 1956, but the name changed depending on the year: "Freezer Jar" from 1946 to 1952, and "Refrigerator and Freezer Jar" from 1952 to 1956. The bottle shape and lid remain the same, but the text on the side and the design on the bottom are different.
Although the jar is quite old, there are few scratches on the glass surface and it is in very good condition. The lid is a zinc cap exclusive to the Freezer series, and although there is some white rust, the surface has been polished as much as possible.
Because the lid is made of metal, it is not suitable for storing liquids, but it is perfectly usable for storing tea leaves, coffee beans, seasonings, and sweets. There is a rubber seal on the inside of the lid, but bottles without the rubber seal will be sold at a 300 yen discount.
The wide mouth design makes it easy to clean the inside and out. If the mouth is wide, you can also replace it with the current lid.
