Ball jars have been making food storage jars since 1884 and are loved around the world. Because of their long history, many models have been produced, but this jar is part of the Eclipse series, which was produced from 1922 to 1952.

The lid is a glass disc secured by a wire, the opening is a standard wide mouth size, and the Ball logo on the front indicates it was manufactured between 1933 and 1952.

The glass is in very good condition, with some scratches and cloudiness, but no major damage such as cracks or chips. The inside and outside have been thoroughly cleaned, and the rust on the wire has been removed.

The wire is tight enough that the lid won't come off even if you shake the bottle, but if you're using it to store something that needs to be sealed, you might want to purchase a wide-mouth-sized rubber ring separately.

It can be used to store small items or display dried flowers, and since the glass is in good condition, it is also recommended for storing coffee beans, seasonings, and cereal.
