Atlas Zinc Caps (Replacement Caps / Regular Mouth)

Current mason jars from Ball and Kerr use lids that fasten a thin metal disc with a ring, but in the past, metal lids called "zinc caps" with milk glass fitted inside were also produced and used in large quantities.

The former is made of a material that is prone to rust, so it is often discarded, but zinc caps are made of zinc and are therefore less susceptible to rust, so most vintage mason jars come with zinc caps.

The zinc caps introduced on this page are made by Atlas and are sized for regular mouths. Regular mouth caps can also be used with mason jars from other manufacturers (please feel free to ask if you have any questions about the size).

In addition, attaching a Rubber Ring will further increase the airtightness, so it is recommended if you are storing food.

Although this item is unused, please note that due to long-term storage, there may be small scratches, dullness, and white rust on the surface.
