Atlas Strong Shoulder Mason Jar 16oz

This is a mason jar from the Strong Shoulder series, which Atlas has been manufacturing for a long time.

Atlas (Hazel-Atlas Glass Company) was a large manufacturer formed by the merger of Atlas Glass and Hazel Glass in 1902. It was known for producing not only mason jars but also milk glass tableware, and was eventually acquired by Brockway Glass, but continued production until the 1960s and 1970s.

This piece is believed to have been manufactured in the 1920s or 1930s, and the glass is a very pale bluish aqua color. It exhibits characteristics typical of its age, such as bubbles and wrinkles. It is in good condition, with some minor scratches and slight cloudiness, but the damage is not particularly noticeable.

The jar comes with a Presto lid, which has a glass disc that is secured with an aluminum ring. This type of lid has the advantage that the contents of the jar only come into contact with the glass, making it safe for storing food. The aluminum ring will have some tarnish, but we have polished it as much as possible.

The capacity is approximately 450ml up to the base of the neck. It is recommended for storing small items as well as coffee beans, tea leaves, sweets, seasonings, etc.
