Apsco Pencil Sharpner

A small pencil sharpener from Apsco (Automatic Pencil Sharpener Co.) with a cute, round shape.

Apcso has a small plastic case and has series such as Midget and Star, but this model does not have a series name. I think it is from before 1950, but it might be interesting to look into this area.

In terms of condition, there are small scratches on the plastic parts and rust and dullness on the metal parts, but the damage is not so severe that it would interfere with use, and it is still in a condition that is quite usable.

American pencil sharpeners are fixed to a stand, and you hold the pencil in one hand and turn the handle with the other. Therefore, three screws are required, but it is possible to sharpen the pencil by fixing the pencil and sharpener in one hand and turning the handle with the other.

When discarding the shavings, turn the plastic case slightly clockwise. The shavings are coarse, but still sharp (see the second-to-last photo).
