We have a rare set of six cat bottles in a frame. We have handled six candy bottles before, but this is the first time we have received a set of six cat bottles.
A cat bottle is a glass container used in sweet shops, etc. As the name suggests, it got its name from its resemblance to a crouching cat.
While most regular glass bottles have their tops on top, the Cat Bottle has its top at an angle to the side, which makes it easier to take out the contents. Another big attraction is that the glass has bubbles and wrinkles, which give it a unique character not seen in modern glass products.
This is a fairly old item, dating back to the pre-war period. The lid has some tarnish and dents due to years of use. There are also small scratches and cloudiness on the glass, as well as a small chip on the rim, but no major damage is apparent, and the condition is generally good considering its age.
There are many ways to enjoy it, such as storing bagged sweets and seasonings, storing small items and scraps, decorating with dried flowers, or even putting in illumination lights.
