Yesterday, I was able to see the Kameido fireworks for the first time in a while. I'm pretty sure the last time I saw them was in 2019, before COVID-19, so it's been five years? Anyway, I was so happy to be able to watch the fireworks from this distance. There were more fireworks than usual, so I'd like to thank everyone on the organizing committee.
Well, today I'm reading a book for the first time in a while.

When I went through the drawers, I found something interesting. A notebook from Yamada Seika in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, and tucked inside it were one flyer, six original flyer plans, and one copy of the original flyer plan.
It appears to be from before the 1980s, and the lettering and decorations are all hand-painted, but it brings to mind the atmosphere of the independent shops that were still plentiful in town when I was a child, and it makes me feel warm inside.

This guidebook is packed with details, including train timetables, route maps, local customs, model itineraries, travel times and fares between major cities, and tips for traveling without a ticket. Since it's over 50 years old, there are probably many parts that are no longer useful, but it's still a very enjoyable book. Despite what I've said, I like the cover.

"Aviation Fan: A Color Album of the World's Masterpiece Aircraft" was published in 1970. It introduces a total of 24 masterpieces from Japan, the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Each fighter plane is presented on three pages by Kikuo Hashimoto: a side view, a detailed drawing, and a black-and-white photograph from the time.
