This is the doorbell from the days when telephone receivers and doorbells were separate. They are called electric bells, but they are actually just bells.

Electric bells are used in many places, such as schools, companies, train platforms, and home intercoms, and while most are rung by striking a single bell with a stick, telephone bells are rung by striking two bells alternately.

Also, telephone bells usually come in brown wooden boxes, but for some reason this one is painted light blue. I searched for telephone bells that were not brown, but I couldn't find any and I've never seen one before, but it's really cute.
You can display it as is, or remove the circuit inside and use it as a wooden box.
