In recent years, grey herons have been seen along the old Nakagawa River that runs through the neighborhood, and I like the Japanese sensibility that led them to call these grey-feathered herons grey herons.
The wooden box I uploaded today is gray, but with a slight bluish tint, closer to the Japanese name for it, "indigo-nezumi- iro." The paint is peeling, but the flavor is excellent.

There is a small letter on the tabletop, and the word "ONTRACT NO." can be read, so it must be military. Judging from the wood, I think it's from before the 1940s.
