Although many people have seen Toulouse-Lautrec's paintings somewhere, I don't think many people know what era he lived in or what kind of person he was.
This Toulouse-Lautrec photo book was published in 1982 to commemorate the arrival of works from the Albi-Lautrec Museum in Japan. It's a thin booklet of just 21 pages, but the text is well-organized and the black-and-white photographs from the late 19th century are so beautiful that by the time you reach the last page, you'll probably feel as moved as if you'd just watched a two-hour movie.
