I bought an old baseball catcher's mask. There is very little information available, but from looking at Western masks, even those from the 1920s and 1930s, it seems like the cushions would be a little thicker. If that's the case, it might be from the early Showa period, or even a little older.

The strap is torn, the leather is deteriorated, and the condition is such that cleaning is difficult. With such a thin surface, I would absolutely not want to get a tip from a fastball, let alone a pee-poopy curveball from the baseball-loving old man in the neighborhood.
However, it is precisely because of its thin and delicate form that it looks good, and it makes you want to display it.
