This old pre-war trunk is made of a fiber material similar to a crate box. It appears to have originally been for medical use, as the words "Emergency Medical Box" are written under the black paint, and a cross mark can be faintly seen on the side.

The paint is peeling in places and the metal fittings are rusty. It has a rather junky feel. I couldn't remove the stains on the interior lining any further, so I think it would be fine to just peel it off. It would look great as a storage space, but also as a cafe table.
