We acquired a large collection of black-and-white photographs taken by an unknown amateur. Unusually for the 1950s, they are all snapshots, and the timing is exquisite: the moment a match is struck to light a cigarette, a girl talking to a boy, a shop assistant handing over change, hair blowing softly in the wind, a woman slightly lifting the corner of her glasses, and so on.
The way he captured the cityscape was also very good, and although I'm not an expert on photography, I was really impressed and would love for many people to see it.
If you are even slightly interested, please come and buy some coffee at Hirai Coffee or Tokyo Suburbs and drop by.
